U.K. carmaker Bristol Cars was placed into administration on Thursday, the British equivalent of bankruptcy. Officials now running the company said several people were laid off but that it was keeping the sales and service operations open.

In uprated 'S' guise, the 577bhp/580lb ft exec saloon monster can only be ordered with 4Matic all-wheel drive in left-hand drive markets, but the UK gets only rear-drive cars. The new Jaguar XF Sportbrake is heading in to Jaguar showrooms next month, but Scottish Jaguar dealers Taggarts are ahead of the game.
